Tag Rugby

Tag Rugby Competition

On the 19th of October there was a tag rugby competition. In the A team there was Finbar, Jas, Emmanuel, Terry, Cristiano, Luci, Valissya, Isabella, Kayla and Gulia. We had a three game wait before we played Downe Manor, it was a very tight game as we won 1-0 with a try from Cristiano. Then we were on again against Christ the Saviour. It was another tight game with us winning 2-1. Finbar scored two tries. After, we played Gifford we were 3-0 up then it ended 3-2 as they had an extremely fast player who out sped Terry. Our three tries came from Luci, Finbar, Jas. Lastly, we played Mount Carmel, sadly we lost 1-0. Then we had to wait for the results they were very close as three teams including us had only lost one game. We were drawn to play Wood End Academy. We were 4 minutes into the Quarter Final and we were drawing 1-1. But Wood End were actually meant to be out so we had a 45 minute wait for everything to be sorted out. Finally, it was us against St. Gregory’s, we won 2-0 with tries from  Finbar and Cristiano. In the Semi-Finals we had Gifford again. It was 1-1 at the end of the game. Finbar scored, it went to golden goal both teams had to take a boy and a girl of. We had 4 minutes to score. End of golden goal, then we had to take one more off. Then Finbar intercepted a pass and ran to the line. Although he got tagged we were right by the line. Then Finbar gave it to Gulia who gave it to Jas and Jas spun and passed it to Terry who scored!!!!!!!!! We were through to the Final against another team in our group, Mount Carmel, who we lost 1-0 in the group. It all came down to this -  Finbar scored then with 3 seconds left they scored again. Into golden goal Finbar passed it to Terry who scored!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We did it, we are through to London Youth Games.
