"Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school." Albert Einstein
“Children must be taught how to think, not what to think.” Margaret Mead
"Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today." Malcolm X
“The soul is healed by being with children.” Fyodor Dostoyevsky

Co - Curricular Activities

St Vincent's offers a range of different lunchtime and after school clubs for our children to attend.

Parents are able to signup for these clubs on Parent Mail when they become available.

Below is an example of some of the clubs St Vincent's offers:

Debating Club

St Vincent's Debating Club offers an exciting opportunity to improve self-confidence, speaking and listening skills and increase awareness of social and environmental issues. Activities encourage all children to prepare debates, become involved in impromptu speeches, practise points of information and much more. Children enjoy taking part in formal debates which  include inter class and inter house debates. We are currently looking forward to debating at an inter school level.

Athletics

St Vincent's offers an after school athletics club for children in years 5 and 6.  These clubs give children an opportunity to learn and improve in a range of activities including; sprinting, jumping, throwing and endurance running.  During the year there is a selection of competitions which St Vincent's participates in.  In 2013, St Vincent's was successful in winning the London Youth Games for Quad Kids, a competition consisting of an 80 metre sprint, a 600 metre race, a howler throw and a standing long jump.

Netball

Year 6 children are able to participate in an after school netball club.  Children are taught the rules and tactics of netball and given opportunities to nurture these skills and compete against each other at school.  Each year, St Vincent's plays a series of competitive games against other schools in Ealing for the opportunity to represent Ealing at the London Youth Games.

In 2014, St Vincent's came 2nd out of London in the London Youth Games at Crystal Palace.

Cross Country

St Vincent's offers a morning cross-country running club for children in year 5 and 6.  The children are taught how to stretch and prepare properly for distance running and then challenge themselves to run 1500 metres.  Each week, the children compete against their personal best to try to improve their time.

This club is an excellent opportunity for children to improve their personal fitness and well as mental and physical endurance.

St Vincent's competes in a cross-country competition in Ealing each year.
