Kurling - February 2015

Kurling 2015

On Friday the 27th of February 2015, the year three Kurling team went to an inter- schools competition at Northolt High School. The team consisted of four girls and four boys. When we got there, we ate lunch and then practised for about 10 minutes. Next we were called over to the middle gym to find out what groups we were in. We ended up in pitch 3 and the first team that we played was Greenwood B team.

After the first round ended, we were already beating them by 1 nil! In the second round, one member of our team threw a shot so close to the target that it could not be beaten. By the end of the game we had beaten them 3 nil.

The next game we played was against Petts Hill B team. They were an easy team to beat and we thrashed them with a stunning 4 nil win. During the next match, we played Hobbayne B team. They were a good team but just not good enough to beat us. We slipped past them with a narrow 2-1 win. That was our last game in our normal groups. We all cheered when we found out that we had reached the semi-finals! We were going to play Derdens Park.

It was a hard game and we all did well but they were always one step ahead. We ended up losing

3-1. After that match all the teams gathered round to find out what positions they had come, we had come third in our semi- final group. We then received our medals and off we went.

We all had lots of fun and we would like to thank Coach Brown, Mr Grear and any others who helped, especially those who helped with the lifts. We’re really looking forward to the next competition!
