St Vincent's had the opportunity to see the rugby World Cup at St Mary's university on Thursday September 10th. At St Mary's we found the grounds and got help to find the grounds we were going to be playing in. There were many activities to do and we were all excited for them, but first was the warm up. For the warm up we played stuck in the mud with a rugby ball. Two people from each school got a chance to be “it”. We played a few rounds and then we got water. After the warm up we went straight into playing tag rugby. After a few minutes we played 6 passes because only a few people on a team would get the ball. We also did something like zones because everybody was chasing the ball. After a bit we got medals and went to see the World Cup. Once we got there it had almost started. The trophy had just arrived and we were in the front of the gigantic crowd. Not long later we got pictures with the trophy and it was an amazing day. When we got back we played another round of six passes then headed back to school. It was a great experience.
We would like to thank Coach Brown for organising this event, Mr Buyers for taking us and all of the drivers.

We would like to thank the Cardinal and all the priests for celebrating a wonderful Mass in our new school hall and blessing our St Damien of Molokai Chapel. Thank you to all guests and parents who attended the celebrations, all the pupils for their exemplary behaviour and participation, and all staff who made the event possible.
We are awaiting official photographs from the event and will post them on the website as soon as they become available.
We are delighted to announce that Cardinal Vincent Nichols will be visiting our school on the 23rd of September to formally bless our new hall and the St Damien of Molokai Prayer Room.
Preparations are well under way and we look forward to welcoming His Eminence at St Vincent's.
